Tyson Foods; continuing to raise the bar for the Seguin Business Community

Seguin, Texas- Did you know that the biggest player in the U.S. poultry industry is located right here in Seguin, Texas? Tyson Foods Inc., a Fortune 100 company, has carved out a niche as the world’s second largest processor and marketer of chicken, beef, pork and prepared foods. Seguin, Texas became home to Tyson after the company purchased their current facility from Holly Farms in 1989. The company has more than 700 team members at the Seguin plant, making it one of the city’s largest employers. Another 100-team members are employed at the hatchery and feed mill sites throughout Guadalupe and Gonzales counties. Tyson Foods offers stable employment and the Tyson team members make a difference every day because they know feeding and nourishing a hungry world is an awesome responsibility. Tyson also strives to make a difference in the communities where they live and work. Since 2000, the company has donated more than 100 million pounds of protein for hunger relief. This summer, Tyson team members from Seguin raised $20,150 for Relay for Life of Guadalupe County.

You can duplicate machines and products, but you can’t duplicate people. This philosophy reminds Tyson of the importance of taking care of and investing in its team members.
