Seguin Fire Department's Fan Drive Underway
SEGUIN, Texas – The heat of summer is tough for all of us but imagine having to endure the scorching temperatures without air conditioning. Unfortunately, that’s the reality for many families and elderly people in Seguin. That’s why the Seguin Fire Department is hosting its annual Fan Drive.
“Summertime heat and humidity in our area can be relentless,” said Fire Chief Dale Skinner. “Fans are critical to keeping those without air conditioning or who are on a fixed income comfortable and safe during the hot Texas summers,” he said.
Beginning on June 1, fans will be available to households (within the Seguin city limits only) that are without air conditioning. Fans can be picked up at the Municipal Court/Fire Administration building at 660 South Highway 46 between 9 am and 4:30 pm. A picture ID and proof of residency is required. Limit one fan per household. If you received a fan last year, you are ineligible this year.
If you would like to donate a fan for the Fire Department’s Fan Drive, please drop off donations at the Municipal Court/Fire Administration building.
