Fire Department Offering Free "Stop the Bleed" Course

SEGUIN, Texas – May 2019 is National Stop the Bleed Month. The Seguin Fire Department is participating in this nationwide campaign by offering a “Stop the Bleed” course to raise awareness about the importance of what to do during a bleeding emergency.

In many cases, bleeding is a preventable cause of death. A person on scene who has the right skills can make a life or death difference.

On Friday, May 31, the Department is offering a free “Stop the Bleed” course where the public can learn bleeding control techniques, providing them with the skills and knowledge to assist severely bleeding persons. The course will be held at the Seguin Coliseum, 950 S. Austin St., starting at 5:30 pm. The class is open to anyone who would like to attend.
