David Rabago selected as new City Engineer

SEGUIN, Texas – A new City Engineer will soon take the reins at City Hall. The City Manager is excited to announce his selection of current Utilities Engineer David Rabago for the position. He will take over when Joe Ramos retires at the end of the month.

“I look forward to being an integral part of the rapid growth the City of Seguin is experiencing and to serve the community to the greatest extent possible as City Engineer,” said Rabago.

Rabago joined the City of Seguin in March of 2015 as the city’s first Utility Engineer. In that time, he’s proved himself more than capable of handling largescale capital projects across the city. In his new position, Rabago will continue handling utility engineering, but will add development projects, capital projects and managing the Capital Projects and Engineering department and staff.

“The city’s rapid growth creates a very dynamic work environment.  I believe the development and implementation of policies and procedures for more efficient use and allocation of resources will help us keep up with the growth,” said Rabago.

Rabago is a Texas Licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Floodplain Manager.  He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a degree in Civil Engineering with a Concentration in Construction Management. He is bilingual and fluent in Spanish. Before joining the City of Seguin, Rabago was the Senior Project Engineer with the City of San Marcos, and previously worked with a consulting engineer firm in the private sector.  ###
