Electric Utilities
Municipally owned and operated, the City of Seguin Electric Department is responsible for maintaining the City's power distribution systems and three substations. The city, which owns its own electricity distribution system, purchases wholesale power from CPS Energy in San Antonio.
In addition to maintaining the electricity distribution system, the Department is also responsible for maintaining security and street lighting, responding to electrical outages, customer requests and resolutions. The Department also provides the construction needed to extend electrical service to new customers and for all Capital Improvement Projects.
