Use of Force Citizen's Police Academy

The Seguin Police Department is now offering a 4-week Use of Force Academy. This free academy provides insight to citizens regarding law enforcement and use of force. Participants have the opportunity to participate in an open dialogue with officers, where questions they may have are highly encouraged.

The course will cover Seguin Police Department's Use of Force statistics and policy, discuss less lethal weapons carried by SPD officers, mental health and it's relation to use of force calls, de-escalation, defensive tactics demonstration, and an opportunity to participate in a use of force simulator.
Applications are available at the Seguin Police Department, located at 350 N. Guadalupe in Seguin, and online at the link below. All applicants will undergo a background check prior to the start of class. Applicants must be older than 18 (no high school students). Hurry and complete your applications as these classes fill up quickly!
