Community Interaction Makes a Difference

Interacting with you as a resident of Seguin is one of the most important things we do. The more information we can pass along to you and keep our citizens informed allows us to be very involved with our community.  The more information you can provide to us by staying aware, reporting a crime or spotting a suspect, the better we can protect all of us.

Your safety is the reason we’re here, so we provide real-time, accurate data and effective, open communication and transparency so you know what we are doing and why we’re doing it. One of the primary ways we do this is through this website.

Upcoming Badges, Bikes & Tykes 2018

The Seguin Police Department is hosting the 14th Annual Badges, Bikes & Tykes Picnic on Saturday May 19, 2018. The picnic will be held at Starcke Park from 11 am to 2 pm. There will be free lunch, lots of games and prizes, and a chance to win a free bicycle for all children age 16 and under.

The Badges, Bikes, & Tykes Picnic is an opportunity for the kids of Seguin to meet the Seguin police officers and firefighters and to get to know them as regular people rather than just as police officers and firefighters. At the picnic children 16 and under receive a free lunch and a chance to win a free bicycle. All the children will also have a chance to play games with and interact with the Seguin Police Officers and Firefighters.

Last year we had over 800 children register to win a free bicycle and we gave away 108 bicycles and skateboards. These bicycles and skateboards are purchased through Walmart below their cost using funds donated by individuals and businesses within the community. We hope that you and/or your agency will be able to help us make this event a huge success for the area children.

Want to donate for this program?  Great!  We are always seeking out area businesses and citizens to help out with donations – either monetary or for one or more of the items needed to make this picnic the success that it has become. Items needed include:

  • New bicycles in a wide range of sizes
  • Water
  • Items for the free lunch
  • Games
  • Door prizes

If you wish to donate, money or any of the items listed above, please stop by the Seguin Police Department or send a check by May 1, 2018 to:

Seguin Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (Tax Deductible) P.O. Box 2682 Seguin, TX 78156-2682

Please make a note that the donation is for the Badges, Bikes & Tykes Picnic.
