National Night Out
Since 1984 National Night Out has been enhancing relationships between the community and law enforcement while providing a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.
In Texas, National Night Out is celebrated on October 6, 2020.
Neighborhood Block Parties
** NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Seguin PD is scaling back their efforts on National Night Out. While we encourage neighborhoods and neighbors to get out in the spirit of NNO, we strongly recommend following strict guidelines for the prevention of spreading COVID. Gatherings should be limited in size, masks should be worn, and proper social distancing enforced. Food items should not be shared.
If you will be hosting a block party, please complete the form below. The Police Department, Fire Department and City Officials will make every effort to stop by and visit as we do each year.
National Night Out celebrates our Police - Community Partnerships. The Seguin Police Department is committed to community involvement that must include you, the community.
The goal of National Night Out is to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
- Generate support for local anti-crime efforts.
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
- Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
