SEGUIN, Texas – Max Starcke Park East has been selected as 1 of 9 park projects in the 2023 Niagara Perk Your Park Campaign from Niagara Bottling through its charitable program, Niagara Cares, and in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).
With the community’s support, the City of Seguin has a chance to win a $75,000 grant to assist with rebuilding the beloved Kids Kingdom playground that was removed from the park this past spring due to safety issues. Winning this grant will help the City construct a brand new, all-inclusive playground in its place. The play structure will also include four accessible play features for children with disabilities.
Out of the 9 cities competing in the campaign, the top 3 park projects with the most votes will win $75,000 each.
Let’s come together as a community and perk Max Starcke Park East! Beginning Monday, August 7, visit https://uqr.to/MaxStarckePark to select our playground project! The public is urged to visit this website and vote for Max Starcke Park once per day, (everyday!) through Sept. 18, 2023.
“The community of Seguin came together in 1995 to build the Kids Kingdom Playscape with their own hands. Today, we are asking residents to use their "fingers" and vote daily in support of this grant effort, said Seguin Parks and Recreation Director Jack Jones.
The Perk Your Park Campaign is part of the Niagara Perk Your Park Project, an initiative that focuses on park and community space revitalization across the country.
