SEGUIN, Texas – Michelle “Shelly” Jackson has been hired by the City of Seguin as Assistant Director of the Planning & Codes Department.
She comes to the City of Seguin with 17 years of experience in development services, including environmental health, planning, code enforcement and floodplain management.
Prior to joining Team Seguin, Jackson was employed by Guadalupe County as Director of the Environmental Health Department and for 11 years as an Appraiser with the Guadalupe County Appraisal District. She also served the Guadalupe County Floodplain Administrator.
She is a Certified Flood Plain Manager and TCEQ OSSF Designated Representative.
In addition, Jackson’s experience includes work on Guadalupe County's hazard mitigation and strategic plans. She also coordinated flood mitigation assistant program grants.
Jackson is involved in several local and regional organizations, including the Seguin Main Street Advisory Board, Guadalupe Child Welfare Board, Alamo Area Council of Governments Criminal Justice Advisory Board and Environmental Conservation Program, and she is a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
