2023 Spring Clean-up Day is April 22

Spring Clean Up Day 2023

SEGUIN, Texas – The City of Seguin is offering residents an opportunity to get rid of unwanted items during the 2022 Spring Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 8 am until noon.

“This is a prime opportunity for citizens to clear out their yards and homes of unwanted, broken or old items. We’ll take care of getting it disposed of properly,” said Jennifer Sourdellia, Public Information Officer.

Seguin residents are encouraged to bring discarded items from around the home for free disposal at the Seguin Events Complex (Coliseum) parking lot. Participants are required to provide proof of residency in the city limits by showing a photo ID or utility bill. City employees will be available to assist residents with unloading items from vehicles and trailers.  

A maximum of 10 automobile tires will be accepted. No tractor-trailer, mower, bicycle or ATV tires will be collected. Tires with rims or tires larger than 19.5 inches are not allowed. Tires from local businesses will not be accepted.

Paper shredding will also be available as a free service at the event. Residents can bring any documents containing sensitive information for secure on-site shredding and disposal. Up to 2 bags or boxes will be accepted for shredding.

Brush, hazardous chemicals, construction materials or building debris, old fences, sheds or torn down building materials will not be accepted. Appliances containing freon or other refrigerants not allowed.

WHEN: Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 8 am – noon

WHERE: Seguin Events Complex (Coliseum) parking lot, 950 S. Austin Street 

WHO: Seguin residents within city limits (proof of residency required)

    Junk disposal

    Scrap metal

    Appliances (without freon)

    Maximum of 10 automobile tires (no larger than 19.5”)

    Paper shredding

NOT ACCEPTED:

    Hazardous material or chemicals

    Brush/limbs

    Fences, sheds, construction materials or debris

    Appliances with freon

    Tractor-trailer, mower, bike or ATV tires

    NO tires from local businesses
