Spooky Stories & Art Contests

  • Submission Deadline: October 21st
  • Winners announced October 28th
  • Contest Rules:
    • Now accepting entries of spooky/horror-themed creative writing and visual art. 
    • All works cannot exceed 2000 words. Minimum word count is 50.  
    • Stories and art will be judged based on content, originality, and age-appropriate quality of expression by a panel of 

      library staff. 

    • Winners will be selected in both writing and art in each age group: grades 3rd - 5th; grades 6th - 8th, and grades 9th - 12th

    • All work must be original and unpublished. 

    • Only one story per person. Only one author per story. Only one piece of art per person.

    • Stories must be submitted in either Word or PDF format.

    • Parent permission/signature required. Entry forms are available at the library front desk.

  • Participants are asked to incorporate this year's theme, "All Together Now"
  • Art entries can be any form of visual art including (painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography)
  • 2023 Winner: Madison Tucker's "Building a Tomorrow"
