Welcome to the Seguin Public Library's Summer Reading Experience! The Summer Reading Experience is a free 8-week celebration of reading and fun challenges and events the library offers through the months of June and July for adults.

This program is for ages 0 to 4.

You will need to pick up a gameboard from the library. Earn free books for reading together, along with a chance to win raffle prizes.

How to play

Complete the Community Gameboard to win free books, brag tags and prizes! Complete all squares & enter the ticket for the Grand Prize drawing of your choice. Complete more than one gameboard for more chances to win.

• Complete the first 5 squares to earn a free book
• Complete each corner of the gameboard to earn a Brag Tag (limit 4)
• Complete the entire gameboard and earn a second free book and a raffle ticket for our prize drawing. 
• You can always substitute an event or activity for 20 minutes of reading. 
• Get rewarded for reading this summer. For every book you read, program you attend, or activity you complete, the closer you are to completing your gameboard. 
• Complete the gameboard and submit your ticket beginning on June 3rd for the Summer Prize Raffles.  
• Only registered participants are eligible for the Raffle Prizes.
• Complete more than one gameboard for more chances to win.

Events:

• Scavenger Hunt - Seguin has many hidden treasures. Follow the clues and discover the wonderful secrets of this amazing town. 
• Saturday, June 3rd, 11 a.m. - Kickoff Party with Balloon Storytelling
• Baby Time: every Wednesday at 10 am.
  • For ages 0-18 months 
  • Join us for 25 minutes of songs, lap bounces, and 1 storybook, followed by 20 minutes of playtime
  • Space is limited, arrive early!
• Toddler Time: every Tuesday at 10 am.
  • For ages 1-2 years 
  • Join us for 30 minutes of rhymes, songs, shaky eggs, and 2 storybooks followed by 20 minutes of playtime
  • Space is limited, arrive early!
• Preschool Storytime: every Tuesday and Wednesday at 11 am.
  • For ages 3-5 years 
  • Join us for songs, rhymes and 3 storybooks that incorporate early literacy skills to develop a love of reading and learning
  • Followed by a themed craft or activity
• Bilingual Storytime with a Firefighter: every Tuesday at 11 a.m.
  • For ages 3 and up
  • Join us for 45 minutes of fun!
  • A Seguin Firefighter will read the first story in Spanish & English 
  • Sing songs and rhymes in both Spanish & English
  • Enjoy 2 storybooks read by a Librarian
  • Followed by a themed craft or activity

The last day to submit this ticket is July 20, 2023. Prize drawings will be live-streamed on July 21, 2023 at 11am on the library's Facebook page @SeguinPublicLibrary
