The Insurance Service Organization (ISO) evaluates municipal fire-protection capabilities in communities across the United States. ISO analyzes the fire protection capabilities and assigns a Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating to each fire department from 1 to 10. Class 1 represents superior property fire protection, and Class 10 indicates the worst. Insurance companies use the PPC information to establish premiums for fire insurance, generally offering lower premiums in communities with better ratings.
The Seguin Fire Department currently boasts a Class 2 rating within the city limits and a 2Y rating for the areas of Guadalupe county that we provide fire protection to. We are among 245 departments in the state of Texas and 1,243 nationwide to receive this rating.
