Salary

Beginning salary is $63,784 for officers with less than three years experience.

Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) - Subject to yearly City Council approval.

Approved lateral applicants, with over three years experience, will begin with a starting salary of $67,013.

A step pay increase of 2.5% is applied for sworn personnel.

$3,000 Hiring Bonus for officers with 3+ years experience & approved for lateral.

$750 paid after six months

Pay Incentives

Intermediate Peace Officer Certificate: $25 per pay period

Advanced Peace Officer Certificate: $25 per pay period

Master Peace Officer: $25 per pay period

K-9 Handler: $25 per plus 8 hours per pay period

Detective Assignment: 5% of gross salary

Bilingual Pay: $25 per pay period

Education Pay for Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree, and Master's Degree

Health & Physical Fitness Incentive

Regular, full-time Police Department personnel who achieve the following scores during the annual fitness testing will be awarded:

75% to 79%: 16 Hours Wellness Leave

80% to 84%: 24 Hours Wellness Leave

85% to 89%: 32 Hours Wellness Leave

90% or Better: 40 Hours Wellness Leave
