The community of Seguin was established in 1838 by members of Mathew Caldwell's Gonzales Rangers, but was not incorporated until 1853.

Golf Course
The municipal Max Starcke Park Golf Course is a regulation 18-hole course located on the north bank of the Guadalupe River and is dispersed with ancient pecan trees.
Wave Pool
The Seguin Aquatic Center is located in Max Starcke Park East. The center features a 15,000 square foot wave pool with a zero-depth beach type entry, a splash pool, raindrop mushroom.
Starcke Park
Max Starcke Park, located along the beautiful Guadalupe River, offers a variety of recreational facilities for Seguinites of all ages, including an 18-hole golf course, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts.
