CID Division

The Investigations Division is comprised of  Criminal Investigations,Property/Evidence, and Victim’s Assistance.  The Criminal Investigations Unit is comprised of one Lieutenant, one Sergeant, one Corporal and six detectives.  One of those detectives is funded through the award of a VAWA grant in 2010.  The detectives are responsible for investigating offenses that are initially investigated by Patrol Officers.  The detectives develop criminal cases, prepare and serve warrants and file cases with the County and District Attorney’s office. 

The Department has a polygraph examiner and a certified print examiner.   The polygraph examiner assists other investigators by utilizing the polygraph and is also going to be utilized in the hiring process.   The print examiner also assists the other investigators by comparing latent prints with suspect fingerprints to help solve cases.

The Property Room is managed by a full-time technician. The Property and Evidence Room houses all of the evidence that is recovered and submitted by any officer or investigator of the department.  The Property Room also handles all found property and is responsible for ensuring that legal procedures are followed for the disposition of property.

Our Property Room Technician is a skilled crime scene investigator with specialites in fingerprint processing, fingerprint analysis and blood stain pattern recognition.

We received grant funding to create Seguin’s first  Victim Assistance program. We have one Victim Assistance Coordinator who serves as the liaison for victims and assists them with obtaining benefits, legal advocacy and providing emotional support among other important duties.  For more information contact our Coordinator:
