Municipal Court thrives under Landra Solansky's leadership
SEGUIN, Texas – Municipal Court Administrator Landra Solansky has been selected as the May 2017 Employee of the Month for the City of Seguin. She was nominated by Finance Director Susan Caddell for her continued professional accomplishments.
Solansky was one of 45 court administrators in the state of Texas to graduate from the ICM Court Management program, and is a Certified Court Manager recognized by the National Center for State Courts. She was also appointed to the 2016 Texas Municipal League Resolutions Committee for the next Legislative Year. Solanksy believes strongly in professional development not only for herself, but she encourages her staff to do the same.
“Professional development is important to me personally because we are responsible for ensuring our community, and those we serve, are given equal access to justice in a timely manner. Texas laws change every two years, and education is the key to making sure we are in compliance. I encourage all Municipal Court Staff to participate in the Court Clerk Certification Program, and I am very proud to say that we have four Court Clerks that are certified at some level,” said Solansky.
The City of Seguin Municipal Court was the only city in Texas selected as a pilot site for earning the title of a “Judicial Center for Excellence” by the director of Research and Court Services for the Office of Court Administration.
“I think Seguin Municipal Court was chosen because City Management is very supportive of the Court. This project includes input from Judge Kolb, Prosecutor Andy Quittner, Finance Director Susan Caddell and City Manager Doug Faseler in conjunction with Court staff members. I am always excited to participate in any program that will help Municipal Courts across the State. This is a team effort, I am honored to receive this recognition, but this is truly a result of great team work,” added Solansky. ###
