SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin City Council will be calling for a special election to be held in November 2017. The election is needed due to the resignation of Phil Seidenberger from City Council. Seidenberger was elected to represent District 3 in November 2014 and cited health issues as his reason for resigning. The City Charter and State Law does not allow for the appointment of a person to fill the unexpired term. Action by City Council to call the special election is planned for June 20.
