Seguin Police Department Selects New Captain
11-Year Veteran Will Replace Retiring Captain

SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin Police Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Lieutenant Victor Pacheco to captain.

“Victor is very passionate and dedicated to the advancement of the vision of the Seguin Police Department,” Seguin Police Chief Kevin Kelso said. “Victor has displayed the skillset that I feel is the pathway to his success and that of the organization.”

Pacheco, an 11-year SPD veteran, was among three candidates vying for the captain position. Each candidate was put through a rigorous selection process that included testing on department policy and procedure.

"I'm blessed and honored to have the opportunity to serve the community and the agency in such a capacity,” Lt. Pacheco said. “I'm excited to continue to build on the great things that the police department is doing right now both in the community and within the department."

Pacheco begins his new role on October 1, 2014. He replaces Captain Maureen Watson who is retiring after 24 years of service with the department. The Seguin Police Department wishes Captain Watson a happy retirement.
