BMX Pump Track at Park West now open

Date: December 01, 2016

SEGUIN, Texas – Park West just got better! Thrill seekers rejoice a BMX Pump track is officially open to public. The track has everything you need to get started including rollers, jumps and berms. The track’s features were designed and installed by the city’s contractor Dirt Dojo who specializes in creating mountain bike trails and bike parks.

“This really is the only course in the region for beginner to moderate level users. We’re already seeing a lot of folks from across the region show interest in coming out here,” said Jake Carsten, Dirt Dojo Owner.

The track is located on the northeast side of Park West next to the basketball court off of San Antonio Ave.  The course includes a start hill to roll into the course. There’s a beginner and intermediate dirt jump line with rollers and tables that lead into a berm. The pump track is a circle of rollers and berms designed so that you can “pump” through the track without pedaling.

“Anybody who likes to ride BMX or mountain bikes can use this track. It’s really designed so that all levels from beginners to more advanced riders,” said Carsten.

City Park staff hope that the track will become a community project. Users can help maintain the features by learning how to do preventative maintenance like watering the dirt. Hoses, rakes, and brooms will soon be available at the site so everyone can help keep the integrity of the course.
