Police officers deliver turkey dinners to local families

Date: November 25, 2015

SEGUIN, Texas – Two days before Thanksgiving the Seguin Police Department made special deliveries to seven local families.

Unfortunately, police officers’ day-to-day jobs involves tough, often negative situations. Chief Kevin Kelso believes in giving his officers a chance to have a positive interaction with the people they serve.

“Seeing thesefamilies show appreciation for what they’re doing, seeing these kids smile, it means everything. It gives them a boost as they protect our city,” said Morgan Ash, Public Information Officer.

Each of the families were identified by officers as needing some help putting a special dinner on the table this Thanksgiving. Administration, CID, dispatch, and all four patrol units were assigned a different family.

On Tuesday, they loaded up police vehicles with everything the family would need to have a complete Thanksgiving dinner, including a nice, big turkey.

A few of the families even received new plates and utensils if they were needed.
